I am a fourth-year medical student at Wake Forest School of Medicine.

I have focused my studies on Emergency Medicine and Critical Care.

I studied as a Presidential Scholar at the University of Richmond.

I was born in Florida and currently reside in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Community Health Experience

Wake Forest EMS Medical Direction

2022 — Present

Assist with EMS medical direction at Wake Forest University to enhance the skills and knowledge of EMS staff. Plan and lead simulated training encounters for EMS members. Assist with in-service training. Organize and deliver lectures on important aspects of pre-hospital care; participate with the administration of oral boards; and, help oversee staff accreditation.

Sexual Health Advocacy Group

2021 — Present

Partner with POSSE to educate local college populations on sexually transmitted disease. Listen and counsel students on sexual health and perform necessary diagnostic tests based on student history. Collaborate with a team of nurses, physicians, and college administrations to improve the sexual health of the Winston-Salem community.

Wilderness Medicine Interest Group And Certificate Program

Equip students with the skills to practice medicine where access to care is limited. Development, organization and lead journal clubs, lecture series, workshops and skill practice sessions to promote academic engagement. Collaborate with the local EMS and private business to host community outreach to teach practical first aid to the greater Winston-Salem Area.

Advanced Ultrasound Certificate Program

Have engaged in a three-year self-directed learning experience where I participate in ultrasound teaching labs as a small group facilitator. Perform proficiently in ultrasound exams under faculty supervision in a variety of settings that included both the skills labs and the clinical environment.

Developed and implemented custom canoe and kayak curriculums targeted to summer camps, adult group lessons and private guests across all skill levels. Supervised onsite instruction and lead inservice training for  kayak staff which focused on practical skills, effective communication, teaching strategies, and teamwork. Performed all necessary maintenance and inventory on appropriate equipment.

Usnwc Water Quality Engineer— Oct, 2020— Mar, 2021

Learned complex water treatment processes and conducted water quality assessment to ensure minimal contamination. Performed maintenance on vital equipment. Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to ensure proper operation and compliance of the USNWC.
